Batik is a craft of the culture of Indonesia which has a high artistic value. In the old days, batik is a skill possessed by women and then became one of livelihood. To preserve the national culture of high artistic value and to improve the skills of its members, especially women, then Kopwan Bhakti Faithful Women Skills Training conducted in East Java Batik.
Batik skills training organized by Bhakti Kopwan Faithful Women held on 19, 22, 23 and June 26, 2009 at Kopwan House IV Faithful Women Bhakti at 09.00 to 12.00.Peserta Skills Training will be getting Batik batik dyes, canting, evening or candles, fabric for batik
Batik Skills Training participants are also informed to bring the equipment necessary for the process of batik as it was delivered by Ms. and Mrs. Julius Soetopo as batik training supervisor at the time of the previous technical meeting. In batik-making, the equipment needed such as: cloth (cotton-based fabrics, silk), 2B pencil to create the initial design of batik canting (a tool made of bamboo, has a copper tip and has a hole in front of) this canting has the function as a pen. Canting is used to take a hot liquid wax, which is used as a cover or protector of the dye, wax, a small frying pan and a small stove to heat the wax.
To make a batik is required is patience and also kesabaran.Berikut steps to make batik:
A. Make batik cloth above using 2B pencil, made batik motif could use as a common motif used or creating batik creations sendiri.Proses making batik on cloth is called molani.
2. By using the canting is filled with liquid wax, batik motif that has been created, coated with wax tersebut.Hal is intended that at the time of the coloring that has been coated by wax candles are not affected pewarna.Setelah quite dry, then washed with a brush so that kanjinya lost and dried but not until then that kering.Sesudah coloring process.
3. After the coloring process is complete, batik cloth is boiled in hot water. The goal is to remove the wax coating on the fabric, so the motive which had drawn batik cloth can be seen clearly.
